Support Groups Pause Starts 8/1/2026

Beginning August 1, our live Community Support programming will be taking a short summer break while our team and peer facilitators recharge. During that time, the Prism community will still be here, and there are plenty of ways to stay connected. Below are answers to some common questions about what to expect during the break.


Why are support groups taking a break?

Beginning August 1, Community Support programming, including Peer Support Groups and Social Spaces, will take a planned summer break. This gives our peer facilitators and Community Support team time to rest, recharge, and return with refreshed programming later this fall. 


How long will the pause last?

Live Community Support programming will be paused throughout August. Programming will resume later this fall.


Will Peer Support Groups return?

Yes! This is a temporary summer pause, not a permanent change. We look forward to welcoming everyone back with refreshed programming later this fall.


Where can I find support during August?

There are still plenty of ways to stay connected while groups are on pause. Within Prism, you can:

  • Join community discussions and identity-based spaces

  • Browse the Resource Library

  • Watch Plume On-Demand educational content

  • Stay up to date with community announcements and discussion prompts


You can also explore trusted community organizations like:

  • TACT (Trans Advocacy & Care Team): Virtual peer support groups.

  • PFLAG Chapters: Local LGBTQ+ support groups

  • SPARTA: Community and advocacy for transgender service members, veterans, their families, and allies.

  • SAGE: Advocacy, resources, and community for LGBTQ+ older adults.

How will I know when programming returns?

We'll share updates through Prism announcements and email as soon as we have more information about our fall programming schedule.


Can I still use Prism during the break?

Yes! Prism isn't going anywhere. You can continue participating in discussions, connecting with other members, accessing resources, and exploring educational content throughout August.


Will my Plume membership or care be affected?

No. This pause only affects live Community Support programming. Your Plume membership, clinical care, and access to Prism will continue as usual.
